Who is Lieve Van den Broek ?

I have practiced as a barrister for five years and a company lawyer for seven years.

As a barrister I was assigned the task of finalizing some 1,500 litigation files for one client within a short term. The plan I put into effect succeeded due to my sense of analysis, organization, innovation and teamwork. And it is with this background that I have provided coaching for colleagues, clients, opponents and judges using my own insights into human nature. Later I established a legal department for a multinational using these same qualities. My training & coaching experience includes teaching non-lawyers to connect their businesses with the law, society and ethics, a focus which increases self-confidence & efficiency as well as offering enhanced job satisfaction. At the same time it gave me the space to develop my own proficiency in other areas.

I believe I get the best out of people. I also believe in the personal power of the individual. My decision to become a counselor, coach and trainer for lawyers was based on my firm belief that lawyers hold a key position in society and deserve appreciation for what they do. I therefore look to develop openness & empathy, a sense of personal responsibility & decisiveness in those who are at society´s service. After all, a constantly changing society requires an evolving focus from barristers, company lawyers and judges.

My surname ´Van den Broeck´ literally means´at the brook´; deriving from the wetlands site my early ancestors once lived. A site of constant change and movement. Today I live in the City of Antwerp close to the river – a place of continuous change, motion and diversity throughout the centuries. Belonging means adapting to this change and movement all the time… and staying with the flow.
